I'm working for a customer where the managers approve working time in the portal using HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL (EHP5). It is an approval without workflow.
The managers use the substitution functionality in the UWL with the standard profile ALL. In that way Manager A is able to see the entries of Manager B. Unfortunately Manager A also see entries of Manager C, if Manager B is a substitute for Manager C.
My questions are:
- What is the logic behind the MSS approval without workflow?
- Is it looking in table HRUS_D2 if there is an entry or how come it is possible to use the UWL substitution, when there is no workflow defined?
- What is the best solution controlling that the substitutes only are able to approve working time? Right now they use profile ALL in the portal which means they unfortunately get access to approve other workflow tasks from the UWL (P&F, LSO, Appraisal).
