Modifying Short Profile In MSS

Hi,

I want to hide certail fields like DOB, Marital Status from Employee short profile in MSS.

i ahve checed the configuration in SPRO at Personnel Management -> Manager Self-Service (web-Dynpro ABAP) -> Profile Applkications -> General Settings -> Configure Short Profile -> Create Configurations with Field Groups

Within SAP_MSS_GENERAL_PROFILE i have marked the marital status field as hidden, but still its shown on portal

when i delete this field from the configurations, its not shown on portal.

is there any other way to hide the fields?
