I have a question about OBN in the SAP portal.
Does anyone know what determines which iView is used during an OBN call?
Let me explain the situation. We have two roles, ESS and MSS which are copied form the SAP standard roles.
Both roles contain the same iView – ‘appraisal document’ which uses the application HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT to display an employees appraisal form.
This can be access in two ways:
- The POWL in ESS to view the employees own forms.
- The POWL in MSS to view a team members forms.
In in our Dev system, both POWLs (ESS one and the MSS one) call the ‘appraisal document’ iView in the ESS role. – which by chance works as everyone has the ESS role.
The problem is the production, both POWLs call the ‘appraisal document’ iView in the MSS role. – which of course only manager have. If you are not a manger you get an iView not found error.
Question is why doesn’t the OBN use target iViews from the same role as the source? And as they obviously don’t, what determines the iView that is called?
Maybe you have two OBN target iViews the same in the same role with different component config – you might one them to be called in different circumstances, rather than just the first one it finds.
