Delete Leave Request Workflow still Active - Unable to Reapply

Hi All,

Scenario:

1. Employee applied Leave for the period 18-Mar-14 to 19 -Mar-14
2. Delete(cancellation) the applied Leave before Approved by Approver (i.e leave on 18-Mar-14 to 19 -Mar-14)
3. Employee Re- Apply Leave again for the period 18-Mar-14 to 19 -Mar-14

Issue :

1. When Employee Delete (cancellation) the applied Leave workflow not completed still active.
2. Then When Employee re-apply Leave on for the same Period new workflow started.
3. For Single leave request 2 active workflows, When Approver try to Approve. Dump Appears in the ESS Screen.

This happening for some Employees, What will be the Reason and how to fix it.
