Dear SDN,
our team is facing an error in the Portal MSS Reports, for which I haven't found any clue in this forum so far.
Please, could someone tell me if has ever seen this error?
When trying to launch any MSS Report, in the last step, when calling the backend with the Report Results, the error below is displayed:
"Portal runtime error.
An exception occurred while processing your request"
After investigation, we came to the following:
The Web Dynpro application, in the Portal Content Directory, is presenting an error:
Web Dynpro application: mss~rpt
(when expanded, a yellow warning icon appears over the application components)
"erroneous: initVariantFromIViewListProvider"
"An error occurred while reading the variant list"
The first line of the Exception Chain is:
com.sap.pcuigp.xssutils.java.XssIViewListProviderImpl.getVariantList(XssIViewListProviderImpl.java:161)
It seems that the Java WD Application is having problems to retrieve backend information, but what information is this? What is the "Variant List", and how to check if some configuration is missing?
(that is my guess)
